Mary Cantrell
is a journalist currently based in Marfa, Texas.
She is one of two full-time reporters at The Big Bend Sentinel, a weekly online and print newspaper founded in 1926 that covers three rural Far West Texas counties.
Before moving to the Big Bend, Cantrell worked for various arts entities in Austin, Texas, and freelanced for Sightlines and Glasstire Magazines.
She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2017 with degrees in Journalism and Women's and Gender Studies.
